Students, parents and politicians are speaking up in the wake of the Feb. 14 attack at Marjory Stoneman High School in Parkland, Fla. Many have offered ideas on how to prevent further school shootings. One that has sparked controversy is the arming of teachers. Among the vocal supporters of such a plan is President Donald Trump.

According to the Washington Post, Trump “claimed his idea would be ‘very inexpensive,’ a notion that educators and others have disputed because of the training involved. Trump has said he envisions about 20 percent of teachers and other school personnel carrying weapons. …(He) has been more animated about the proposal than any other idea he has floated since the shooting.”

See what cartoonists from around the world think about the plan. What is your opinion?
